Christ Your life

His Kingdom multiplied through you

In the last post I wrote about knowing Jesus as He is. This is His passion and it should be ours. Impugning the nature of Father and distorting the nature of His Son is the essence of The Robbery perpetrated by the Robber and the father of lies. He does this to degrade our lives. Jesus of course is who He is and revealed Himself as such. John reveals Him in the glory of His humanity and deity and Paul reveals Him as our life.
It would be interesting to know how much of our concept of Jesus and His Father is a lie. The gravest distortion of Jesus comes from religion with its myths and veils. It is possible to be insulated from the real Jesus by our theology. Much of this comes from the Adamic nature of religion while some of it comes from the kind of religion that is a fabric of lies. Serious perversions of the nature of Jesus come from an obsession with the law, viewing Jesus through the law and extending the old covenant into the new covenant age.
‘For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known’ John 1.17.18 NIV.
Jesus was never subordinate to the law. If He was, the law would be higher than He, which would mean that He was not God. But He is the exact expression of the living God, the author of Hebrews affirms. This is why we must seek the Christ of God with all our hearts, with the attitude that our beliefs must fit into who He is rather than our bending Him into the mold of our long held suppositions.
The theme of asking Jesus to reveal to us the Real Jesus so that we can know Him and move boldly into our already achieved union with Father is expertly presented in J Baxter Kruger’s book,
Patmos. He writes, “Yet those who embrace Him, who believe in His name, find His Light, His I AM setting them free to become their true selves, free to live as children of God in the darkness, discovering their origin beyond their earthly parents in the Word in God. And so the Word became flesh and entered the darkness in person, and found His way within us. And we perceived His true identity, His glory as the only begotten out of the Father, an overflowing fountain of grace and truth. ”
We can live a richer life by seeking to know Jesus through the Lens of Himself, rather than seeing Him through a glass darkly through the lens of our Adam life which is the un-enlightened us. Many years ago I read of the need to know Father as He is since our views of God can be misrepresented by our human parents – not only by abusers but by normal people just being their flawed selves.
Jesus is not somewhere else. He is in us to reveal Himself as He is.
Not only eternal life but life in the present is ours to the extent that we know God – as He is. There is from where we get our real identity as sons. This is why Mary positioned herself more advantageously for being herself than did Martha. In Jesus we can know God close up and be nourished in His revelation of Himself.
