Christ Your life

His Kingdom multiplied through you

Father placed in every heart the desire to be someone and do something. These are prime motivations of the sons and daughters of God. The twin peaks of our identity in God are our sonship and the Bride of Christ. There is no dichotomy here. In Christ we are both the children of the Father and the wife that came forth from Jesus’ side. In both senses we are the expression of God. We have one Father who is God and one husband who is Christ. Both facets present the one ground of our being: Our Father. In Him we live, move and have our being.

'And do not call anyone on earth 'father,' for you have one Father, and he is in heaven' Matt 23.9 NIV.

Christ is your life. Worship in spirit and in truth is ours when we are formed in Christ and express God as His daughters and sons. When we come forth from Him and we do all that He planned for us to do. This is the alpha and omega of our identity and purpose. It it how we advance the gospel of the Kingdom instead of a random gospel of religious activism. In the Kingdom our identity and purpose are a function of the already achieved union with God that is ours in Jesus. Neither circumcision or Sabbath-keeping mean anything. What counts is new creation life flowing through those who have become sons and daughters of God.

But this can be too simple for some. So they cling to an identity that is in themselves, their beliefs and culture. They seek a specialness that comes from a 'an additional revelation' or some appendix to the gospel of the apostles. Never mind that it is un-Biblical or that it degrades what Jesus accomplished for us and stifles His life in our fellowships. This identity is 'their father.' 'It is our identity and we're sticking to it'. Even if it implies that Father disagrees with Himself and we ourselves are consigned to be dead men walking, muttering, "I hope I have done enough." But you don't need to 'do enough' because enough' was done by Jesus so that you can live joyfully in Father's embrace and honour Him as sons.

'For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers' Rom 8.38 NIV.

Infinite life and the power that transforms comes from Christ in you. Scriptures can point us to Christ. But it is Jesus in us who becomes us and transforms us into our better self. Scriptures in themselves have no more power to impart life than any tenets of the law.

Clinging to extra-Biblical doctrines and old covenant mind-sets separates us from Christ and our real identity in Father as sons. You have an unshakable identity as a son when Christ is your life.

'I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!' Gal 2.21 NIV.

Tares are deviant gospels and additions to the apostles teaching. The Holy Spirit was never meant to be a fertilizer for tares. Baptism in the Holy Spirit and the state of being called 'Spirit-filled' cannot help us if we are attempting to live from mindsets that leaves us separated from God. We have one husband who is Christ. One Father who is the Father of all that is. There is a choice to be made. Will we be the sons and daughters of God or will be drum up some identity of our own and pretend to be helping God when we are in fact tares in a field of tares?

If the new covenant means that Christ is our life, it also means that Christ is our identity and that in the Father we are sons. If we are alive in God's Son we can respond with authority to any challenge voiced as 'If you are the sons of God..?' with a bold YES! If we are attempting life in some version of ourselves individually or collectively we cannot and will not be sons. In attempting this lesser identity we become subject to the Enemy and the plaything of circumstances. We choose the identity of slave rather than son.

‘But what does Scripture say? "Get rid of the slave woman and her son, for the slave woman's son will never share in the inheritance with the free woman's son’ Gal 4.30 NIV.
