Christ Your life

His Kingdom multiplied through you

What comes out of you're being? Information or life? Jesus said, 'Out of your being will come rivers of living water.' But only if Jesus is your life and only if your inner life is hidden in God. What is at your core? Abstractions? Positions on good and evil? That which you produce depends on that which is at the core of your being. If you believe God is essentially about doing right and being right your heart will be in the letter. But it is the letter that kills. Only the Spirit brings life and that Spirit is God's Son in you.

'This one who is life itself was revealed to us, and we have seen him' 1 John 1. 2 NIV.

When Jesus spoke of living water flowing from His disciples He was speaking about the very thing He came to achieve: The multiplication of the life of His Son in you. The plan is to re-create human beings as the expression of His son. Jesus lived to express the Father. The everlasting gospel is Father expressing Himself in His sons.

This happens as Jesus lives His life as us and particularly as we invite Him to do this.

This is impossible should we be living from a belief system, a set of performance criteria or the law. These can multiply the knowledge of good and evil. But they cannot multiply Christ's life in you. The law can produce rivers of sand but never rivers of living water.

'Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them' John 7. 38 NIV.

Jesus is not the means of keeping the law. He is your life. The law of the Spirit of life is Christ in you. It is Jesus expressed as you that is the river of life that comes out of your being. The righteousness of God is Jesus manifest as you!

Don't expect to release rivers of living water if you live out of a belief system. Rivers of the Spirit never come from the letter. Yet one whose being is knit with God and who lives in the Spirit of Christ will unleash rivers of living water when he or she simple goes about as themselves..

Clearly one need not be a theologian to be a river of spirit and life. But we do need to be aligned with Christ’s theology of Himself and us. His theology is simple. By His Spirit come in our flesh He is our life. Take this to mean our grace our righteousness, our humanity and our verisimilitude as sons of God.

The core of our being determines what we are. If Christ is our life He is our core and we are the expression of His nature and person. This is life in the Spirit. If we are living in the law as an adherent of Moses using the new testament as a pseudo law, or we have made a moral matrix out of our Christianity we are attempting to live in the letter that kills. We are living in branch of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

You have a Sabbath rest from self-validation in the person of Jesus. He is your Sabbath and a Sabbath beside which any temporal or legal Sabbath-keeping is a damp squib. Jesus is you as rest. Jesus Christ is your rest for human restlessness. Let’s be clear. We have not been set free from legalism’s body of death if we have mostly abandoned the law. One or any element of the law binds us to the old covenant. The old covenant leaves us in separation from God and in the alienation of Adam. Here we are immersed in the culture of the law of sin and death and have maintained ourselves in the land of Satan’s usurped authority. Let’s understand this. The law and the knowledge of good and evil out of which this culture grows withers the human spirit, degrades God and short-changers anyone stuck in it. C. Baxter Kruger observes that,

“When you start with legal holiness, you have eyes only for the cross, and you never see that in Jesus Christ, nothing less than the eternal trinitarian life of Father, Son and Spirit is being lived out inside human existence. You never really get the staggering meaning of the incarnation.” - The Great Dance.

Significantly Jesus declared Himself come to rid us of a stolen humanity, marred sonship and unlimited potential. He declared Himself here to multiply in us life without limit. There is no limitation in Jesus. Holiness and fellowship with God is not limited to days or special places. It wells up from inside you. Because Jesus is in you.

‘On that day you will realise that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you’ John 14.20. You can realise this now. When we do the anointing and the gifts of the spirit will have something to root themselves in.

The ultimate manifestation of life and righteousness was never the law. This is a fiction. Ultimate life is the Father and our union with Him. This is the law of the spirit of life to which we have been restored in Jesus. Paul talks of Christ your life and it means the life of God, Jesus, expressed as you. Paul writes,
'Clearly, you are a letter from Christ showing the result of our ministry among you. This "letter" is written not with pen and ink, but with the Spirit of the living God. It is carved not on tablets of stone, but on human hearts' 2 Cor 3. 3 NLT. He is not saying we are a walking pile of pious sentences. This is contrary to his remark about the letter that kills. He is saying that in Jesus we are the manifestation of a son of God.
