Christ Your life

His Kingdom multiplied through you

REAL LIFE grows out of Jesus in particular and the trinity in general. It does not spring from abstractions, therefore life will not grow out of the law. The letter kills. Life flows out of the trinity in a river of spirit empowerment. As a person you are ignited by the person of Jesus in you. It is He who will grace you, inspire you and transform you more than any cavalcade of sermons, regiment of Bible studies and good intentions. Not that these are useless. It just them when done in His Spirit they are the vehicle of a life of His own that makes you more completely and intensely you. You are alive in the Spirit.

For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ’ John 1.17 NIV.

Any of is in full modesty and without boasting are capable of living a more ignited life in the Spirit of Sonship than any old testament person such as Moses or Elijah. God was never interwoven into the being of an old testament person like He can be in you. He comes by invitation.

Truly I tell you, among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist; yet whoever is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he’ Matt 11.11 NIV. Why is this? Because Christ has come by the Spirit to live in our being.

On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you’ John 14.20. This is the new covenant in spirit and in truth - the difference between Holy Spirit going off in us like wet gun powder and a volcanic eruption.

Yet the new testament age is more than miracles and gifts. It’s more substantial and steady than that. It’s the soil of your being. It is the incarnation - the trinity alive in and you alive in the trinity.

We are joined to this
spirit and life in Jesus. In ministry, we have not imparted life just because we have found some fragment of truth to speak out - even if it was sourced in the Bible. Information is inert. Truth without spirit is dead. Jesus modelled the Spirit of Sonship in the flesh as the Son of Man. In Jesus we are sons in spirit and in truth. We are rooted in the persons and life of the trinity. When we are embedded in Father as was Jesus, we speak and live spirit and life.

‘The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you--they are full of the Spirit and life’ John 6.63 NIV. It’s possible to live in the flesh of Moses and Adam and old testament separation and sputter along in the gifts. But this spirituality does not last because it cannot be maintained. It has no root.

The life of God is life itself. God’s life
is a totality - which a purely human mitigation of weakness, disease and error can never be. The best this pursuit can produce is a mixture of life and death because such relative life is the child of the knowledge of good and evil. The most sincere, the most brilliant presentation given from the frame of the knowledge of good and evil will never produce life. But in Christ we have life in ourselves. When Christ is our life the most simple words and seemingly insignificant acts are vehicles of His spirit and life.

‘I want to know Christ--yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death’ Phil 3.10 NIV.

You will participate in His suffering if you live and promote the simple and uncomplicated reality that
Christ alone is life. The first to take offence are the religious whose attachment to their garbage blinds them to the life that is Christ alone and insulates them to the idea that there is a spirituality more simple and real than the shadows from which they have made their life. These will offer you reproach if not persecution. You may not win the pastor of the year award by telling folks that what they call their religion is a load of crap! Then again, a useful conference topic might be ‘How to Exchange a Routine of Dung for a Life that is Christ.’ Paul wrote,

Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ’ Phil 3.8 NIV.

God’s life is not life-giving because it is right. It is life-giving because it is Him. This is the meaning of
spirit and truth. Jesus’ words were alive because He and His Father were one. They were spirit because they were the expression of the Spirit of God. Life comes from persons not from abstractions.

Should we have been nurtured in a law culture and embroiled in old covenant assumptions, we might imagine that the enunciation of Biblical truths can ignite the soul. As a result we might think we have done well if we have isolated a piece or ‘rightness,’ brought it to the attention of Believers and commended it as a course of action. Possibly we may have produced a few drops of life but never
a river of spirit and life. Grace can do a little with these few drops but grace can do a lot more with a river.

Sons of the law are attached to rightness as a thing. The sons of God are joined to life and THEY ARE LIFE. In Jesus we are life-giving spirits at large in the temple of ourselves. We have the power to touch things with His spirit and life and advance the new creation.

If we are children of the law and a law-culture, we will purvey law in its many forms. We will promote right doing and right understanding but the result will be religion. If we get into the Spirit we will eventually reduce it to the letter. But we will not be channels of spirit and life. This does not mean that information is irrelevant. It means that our information will appear as the knowledge of good and evil rather than as spirit, life and revelation.

In the new covenant we are in the One Spirit and one with God. We have the same relationship with God that Jesus had with His Father. We are one and we speak His words in His Spirit. This is the source of the anointing. Speaking in the spirit of wisdom and revelation we will speak life unfettered and unobscured by religion, myth and veils of misunderstanding. In Christ such veils are undone. People get eyes that see and ears that hear. Death, lies and bondage are undone because they cannot ‘
Stand up against the wisdom the Spirit gave him as he spoke’ Acts 6.10 NIV.

The Spirit of Sonship is neutralized if we live in the law. It is amplified when we are alive in our Father. The natural place of the sons of God is in our Father. Here we are sons in spirit and in truth. Our new covenant life is union with God. Here we participate in the life that raised Jesus from the dead. And because we are one with 0ur Father we only do what He is doing. Thus we are always relevant and always alive. We have Father’s heart for the people in any situation.

When we have the Son we have life and are alive in our Spirit. If in the law and old covenant we do not have the Son and our spirit is dead. Either we live from the law and are dead or Jesus is our life and we are alive with the spirit-life of heaven. There is no middle ground. In one there is no life. In the other there is infinite spirit and life. In Jesus we are alive in God. As sons in our Father we are who we really are in the great drama of life. In being ourselves we are the expression of Jesus and living to our design. As sons and daughters we are life-giving spirits who promote new creation life. It is we in Christ who join heaven to earth and manifest the life of heaven where we are.
