Christ Your life

His Kingdom multiplied through you

Jesus is life and that life is the life of all people. Jesus taught the people by revealing that all roads lead to Himself and from Himself. He did not teach doctrine or expound belief systems. He presented Himself as the light and the way to the Father. The way of Jesus is not a formulation or dissertation. It is He!

'Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them' John 6.56 NIV.

You may remember the 1989 movie, 'Dead Poet's Society.' All can do better than 'seize the day.' More than a 'day' has seized you. You have been engulfed by a life - the life of the Son of Man!

The Kingdom of Heaven was never a religion. It (He) is a person. The kingdom is dumbed-down whenever it morphs from the person of Jesus into the letter. The Kingdom is diluted and castrated when we attempt to make structures, institutions and formulations the life that can only be found in Jesus. Once Jesus was seated at the right hand of the Father the life of the world began to emanate from Christ in His people. Christ in you is the daily experience of His glory and the hope of increasing glory. It is the realisation of eternal life through you which is the new creation.

When Christ is our life; when we are the expression of Him – we are alive with spirit and life. If we are living in the law or some mixture of law and Christ, we will have diluted ourselves. I have never seen a truly alive in the Spirit person who remains attached to the law. Caught in the law we remain ‘dead folks’ talking no matter how sincere and active we may be. We remain a light-bulb that is never turned on.

A jesus [sic] slotted into an old covenant perspective is not the Christ of God. A jesus enlisted to supervise a Christianized version of the knowledge of good and evil to propagate a network of institutions is not the King of glory. This is an emasculated christ, producing impotent people. There is unlimited life and power in the simple fact that Christ lives in you.

'We have no right to a perspective that is not the new covenant and the doctrine of the apostles.'

The simplest and most beguiling way of leeching Believers of their new creation life is to attach them to a christ who is not the Christ of God. This is the work of the thief and the robber and it is done with beguiling subtlety. The Enemy is not so brazen as to promote an obvious idol. The power of Jesus to deliver us from the many forms of death is negated by blinding believers to what Father accomplished in Jesus; by embroiling them in old covenant forms and beliefs and in some cases binding them to the law.

The curse of living under a performance orientation is that we live outside the resurrection life that is ours in Jesus. (Sure, some seeps through but not much) If we are a preacher or teacher of this mind-set we can deliver information but we will not multiply life. Our personal tragedy is that we think we are life-giving when we are not and we may think we are advancing the Kingdom of Heaven when we are actually delaying it.

The new covenant simply means that Christ is our life. Christ is all and in all. His Spirit of life, the life-giving spirit of the last Adam drives out the many forms of death and fills our being with infinite life. This is life in the Spirit, Christ incarnated in our person; christ living in us; Christ becoming us. It is the life of sons.

'Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me' John 6.57 NIV.

There is a driving life-force in the the unadulterated gospel that is none other than the power of the resurrection of Jesus in people. Linked to the alpha and omega that is Jesus we are swept along by the river of life. This is not only the life that flows from Father but the ever unfolding realisation of His purposes in us.

I have friends who have spent their lives away from Jesus because they could not stomach religion. When they come back to Jesus I tell them that they live fully in Jesus. They don’t have to do stuff and are better of without it – on account of the penchant of so many to ascribe sacredness and spirituality to usages and rite that have no life at all. Christ alone has life. If you don’t believe that don’t tell anyone and drag them into the sub-life you have chosen for yourself!

Our life-span and each moment is enfolded in the Father. As sons we have the potential to speak living words that multiply and sustain the sons of God. In the Spirit we can speak a 'now' word, tailored and contrived by the Spirit of Life to speak into the lives of those assembled. Or we can speak religious generality to fill a space. This is the equivalent of leafy trees without fruit.

When Christ is our life we will speak and impart His life. We will be spirit and life. This not so when the old covenant is our life. Here, despite our sincerity we impart religion and information. It's like serving people stale scones or junk-food. It has no nutriment in it and may even dull the appetite for good food. There are those who have no capacity to discern when they are receiving junk and when they are receiving nutritious food. They can give a loud amen to nonsense. As a teacher representing Jesus your responsibility and privilege is to aid people to become discerning; to become larger in their spirit than they were. You need to be fathered as a son to multiply sons. You can be doing what Jesus is doing.

'The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you--they are full of the Spirit and life' John 6.63 NIV.

We have no mandate to drag bits of the law into the age of the Spirit. The new covenant is the person of Christ pervading all by the Spirit. The anointing, spiritual gifts, the Holy Spirit added to a law keeping life-style can produce a momentary growth spurt. But this cannot be sustained. There is no depth of soil to sustain it. The infinite life of the Kingdom of Heaven cannot be sustained from an old covenant mind-set. We can't grow the reality from shadows. The Kingdom of heaven grows from Christ-life soil. This is why Paul asked, 'Did you get the Holy Spirit by keeping the law?' Of course the answer is no. We quench the Holy Spirit by clinging to law. A life in Christ is not a bit of the law and a helping hand from Jesus. It's not even you keeping close to Jesus. It is Jesus. Jesus in you. JESUS AS YOU. This is the bread that came down from heaven that all may eat and not fade out. The message of Christ is that Jesus is totally our life. Christ in us is Spirit and all life.

'Let me ask you this one question: Did you receive the Holy Spirit by obeying the law of Moses? Of course not! You received the Spirit because you believed the message you heard about Christ' Gal 3.2 NIV.

'You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace' Gal 5.4 NIV.
