Christ Your life

His Kingdom multiplied through you

Healing , wholeness and a joyful spirit come from a Jesus life. Spirit and life come from not only abandoning religion for Jesus but exiting ‘our Jesus’ for the Christ of God. As ‘I Am’ lives in us we begin to know God as He is and to know our real selves as we are - not in the knowledge of good and evil which is the essence of religion but in Knowing God and Jesus Christ whom He has sent. Eternal life should not be thought of as only pie in the sky by and by. It means a life that is infinite. This is life that is love as well as the love of life that glows in our being.

‘Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent’ John 17. 3 NIV.

We each possess union with God as the gift of eternal life. Much of religion lives in an assumed separation from God. Then markets itself as the way to overcome this. The implied claim of some of the institutional church is that it is the way to union with God. The attempt to become one with God by keeping the law that burdens some members of the body explicitly and many implicitly further separates Believers from God. More insidiously it manufactures a false christ - a lesser Jesus who is not so much the logos or the I AM but a construct of the our need to perform and so to earn. Any vision of Jesus seen through the Christianised knowledge of good and evil is a subtle delusion and any personal identity constructed through the law is crippled and amiss. You are who you are in the Christ of God. Never in your own christ or the christ of ‘another gospel.’

‘For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the Spirit you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough’ 2 Cor 11. 4 NIV.

The gospel of the Kingdom is a kingdom in which human beings are joined to God, are one with God and fellowship with God - not in principle but in actuality. This is not companionship with a generality or an abstraction. Nothing like the ‘Unmoved Mover’ here. Neither have we been joined to anything as impersonal as a programme of beneficial activities. We have been made one with the Source and Womb of all that is both God and wonderfully human.

A son or daughter of God does not have a faith in faith but a life in Jesus who is more personal than any relative or friend. Their ‘relationship’ is never just a relationship with a faith or one with the principle of union. Neither is it an relationship with ‘relationship’ as a construct. Spirit, life, love and joy come from union with God. You don’t have to live towards this. You are already in it - made one not by any effort of yours but placed in union by God. Jesus is your union and your fellowship with Father and Holy Spirit. In our relationship with God and with our fellows Jesus has ‘made the two one.’

‘For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility’ Eph 2.14 NIV.

The amazing thing about the living word - the mystery of Christ in us - is that the living word, the logos is manifest through us in the ‘spirit of sonship.’

‘On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you’ John 14.20 NIV.

We have a personal ‘oneness’ with God through Jesus and Holy Spirit. In them we are one with Father with whom Jesus lived in personal communion and constant enjoyment. In Jesus we are one with the Holy Family because they have come to live in us and are constantly with us. This is a great bonus because each member of the trinity is a distinct person which means that we have the pleasure of knowing God and fellowshipping with God in His unity and diversity. We can know each one and receive the ministry of their life and personhood in the creativity in which it flourishes. If there is anything that distinguishes our life in God, it is that it is personal.

This implies and it is the truth that our relationship with God is in His Spirit. It is found in the union of our spirit with His. Our relationship with God does not come through the Bible because this is an inert object. Our union with God has no mediation other than Himself in Holy Spirit. You are not only already one with God. He is with you and in you. A real relationship is always Father to sons and sons to Father. There is no intermediary apart from the trinity working together to succour you in their fellowship.

If the only relationship you have with God is through reading the Bible and its account of other people’s relationships, your fullness in Jesus will be small. If our spirituality is thought of as a re-iteration of why we are right and others are wrong we are greatly deluded. This is not spirit. Not spirituality at all. It is the fruit of the tree of death.

‘I tell you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John; yet the one who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he’ Luke 7.28 NIV.

Every Believer has infinitely more of God today than did any person in the old testament including Moses. We have more of God than Elijah and David. There was no incarnation then like there is now. Today God takes up residence in all who will love His Son.

‘Jesus replied, "Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.’ John 14.23 NIV.

Through false doctrine and perverse teaching many have been robbed of this relationship. For them, union with God through the atonement and by being filled with Holy Spirit is a concept and not a reality. In their minds they remain in the old covenant with estranged Adam - estranged because false teaching and perverse revelation have robbed them of all that has been accomplished for them in Christ.

‘You foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? Before your very eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed as crucified’ Gal 3.1 NIV.

Still caught in a web of performance many are insulated from Christ in His fullness and encased in the law from which they have already been delivered. As a result they live in a state of alienation and woodenness rather than being fully human and fully alive in Christ’s spirit and life. None who live in the abstraction of the law can ever live in life to the full.

You have a life with God in the Spirit. As we are saying, this life with God is not some religious concept. It is union with God. It is you and Father being one just as it was with Jesus. This is the truth of the incarnation. You have this fellowship in the Spirit of Sonship. ‘Sonship’ is the clue that we are one with our Father. In God by the One Spirit, we increasingly become one with ourselves and one with other Believers.

‘See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ’ Col 2.8 NIV.

‘Elemental spiritual forces’ means adherence to rules and performance. This is the flesh and the carnality of the natural man.

But here’s the problem. In this deception our religious efforts appear as the reality and Jesus becomes the shadow. He’s the little guy who props up the law and lives under it. In religion the incarnation of the fullness of God in you is a shadow. This performance mode separates people from Christ, even while claiming to join them to it. Fortunately there is grace and by grace a few droplets of spirit and life seep through. But never rivers of living water.

‘Are you so foolish? After beginning by means of the Spirit, are you now trying to finish by means of the flesh?’ Gal 3.3 NIV.

For many of us repentance takes the form of abandoning our Jesus for the real Jesus who is the Christ of God. He reveals Himself when we seek in humility and grace, willing to see Him as He is, to see His glory and be transformed into the glory of who we are as sons. The great issue of this age is this: Will you live in union with the Fatherhood of God and be a son in spirit and in truth? Or will you live robbed, stultified and numb to your real self in the grave-clothes of religion? In this gospel of the Kingdom and the I AM of the real Jesus, you are one with the Everlasting Father. In I AM you are who you are and growing into the fullness of who you were designed to be.

‘They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer’ Acts 2.42 NIV.
