Christ Your life

His Kingdom multiplied through you

ONE VINE

Humility is associated with grace, the ability to listen to others and a mind open to the assessment of ideas. Humility is gracious and loves truth because the truth sets people free. Truth makes people more human, dissolves humbug and all forms of oppression. Particularly does TRUTH dissolve humbug that smothers the spirit of people in the name of God. Theology is simply the truth about God and the truth about you. Resist good theology and you will find yourself believing anything and everything.

‘For, "Who can know the LORD's thoughts? Who knows enough to teach him?" But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ’ 1 Cor 2.16 NLT.

By being nailed to the cross, Jesus unbound us from every lie, every false assumption and any imprisonment resulting from the many slanders about God. He set us free from every Marketer of Religion. We really do have freedom in His name. In Christ we always have access to the Father. We are free to be safe in Him while assessing anything that comes across our path. Only with Jesus as our life can we discern between good and evil, flesh and spirit and Kingdom and non-kingdom.

We know truth to the extent that Jesus and not religion is our life. The riddle of life is that those living in the knowledge of good and evil cannot discern between the categories with any accuracy. But those who live in God through Jesus gain an exquisite discernment that separates life from death, confusion from certainty and humbug from spirit and life.

‘For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart’ Heb 4.12 NIV.

APOSTLES DOCTRINE

The doctrine of the apostles is that there is one God and that Jesus Christ is His human face. A life in God’s Son is liberal to the extent that it can examine different ideas. But it never embraces the view that one Christian perspective is as good as another. We are free to meet in a traditional church or a café. But never free to undo the cross, reinstate the law and annul the incarnation. None are free to make their own vine. But some do. Paul warned of ‘other gospels’ and Jesus warned of false christs. Peter warned that deceiving spirits are behind any attitude where it is denied that the trinity is alive in you.

The door to the Kingdom is narrow. Firstly salvation comes from the name and person of Jesus alone. Secondly our new covenant privilege of Jesus as our life is the one legitimate form of Christianity. It is one way that the kingdom of God can manifest through Christ’s disciples. It is the living way. It is Christ come in the flesh. It is Jesus manifesting as you.

The new and living way is the way of the cross, the resurrection and the person of Jesus in us – His resurrection as our life. This way is alive because Christ lives in us and it is new because Jesus is not a new way of doing the old testament. He is the ulta-new and living way. Jesus does not empower rules, values and behaviors to be your life. He Himself is your life.

Jesus is the way of multiplying the Kingdom of Heaven on earth and the way in which the kingdoms of this world give way to the Kingdom of our Lord through people like you.

The person of Jesus and the life of heaven are mediated by the Holy Spirit. Being ‘filled with the Spirit’ is not an option or a perspective. It is the living means by which the person of Jesus lives in us by the person of the Holy Spirit. Do without this and we are orphans. Receive this baptism and we are sons.

‘But the person who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with him’ 1 Cor 6.17 NLT.

Jesus was neither bigoted or wishy-washy. He was full of grace and truth. Un-encumbered by the epistemology of the knowledge of good and evil, Jesus lived in His Father and saw as God saw.

Because Jesus was ‘I AM’ He saw what was and knew things as they were. He viewed the world neither from bias, left or right, vested interest or self –interest. He viewed the world from the perspective of love, sacrifice and blessing . As such He imparted life without measure. In religion we will narrow our horizon, thinking we are doing well when we are really expiring. In Jesus our life as His kings and priests will inevitably expand and intensify because we have entered life without limit. Life without limit is the culture of the Kingdom of Heaven. The culture that Jesus manifests through His people. We are and we initiate the new creation.
