His Kingdom in you and the world

Jesus is not about the maintenance and propagations of institutions. He’s about the multiplication of Himself in people. The church Jesus builds is not made with human hands because it is the manifestation of Him. This is not to start to live in a vacuum. It just means that we must not confuse the package with spirit and life.

The Christ of God is fully God and fully human. To see Jesus is to see our Father. It is also to see our real selves. To be a manifestation of Jesus because He has come in our flesh is to be an agent of the new creation, which is the Kingdom of God.

Genuine Godliness is to be a manifestation of our Father: A son/daughter. With Jesus as our life we are a person rather than an ideologue and a son rather than a religious compilation of qualities. This is what the law saturated believer cannot get right. She thinks the fruits of the Spirit are a bunch of qualities – a new testament kind of ‘law.’ In reality the fruits of the Spirit are you being a son/daughter of God in your uniqueness and diversity.

God is incarnated in you. This means the spirit of Christ and the nature of God is externalised as you.

God has come by the spirit into your flesh to manifest as you. The result is life to the full, wholeness and holiness – the latter which is joyous, free, robust and human with none of the irritating pieties that hang on us should we be trapped in the self-righteousness of a sin management syndrome. Law attachment has two sides: Judgmentalism and self-righteousness. Christ our life has freedom, genuine individuality, continuous healing of the soul and spirit and life.

One can know the Bible and not know the new covenant. This is to say that one can comprehend a Christian life without Christ being our life. The latter is not earned. It’s believed. We are not believing or obeying Jesus’ teaching if we are still attached to the law.

‘Jesus replied, "Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them” John 14.23 NIV.

“Merely knowing the Bible accurately does not mean you automatically understand a matter and it does not make you worth being listened to or followed. What matters is transformation into His image, not merely information from the Bible. Bible knowledge must have an outcome, an incarnate output, before it is really "truth" in the way Jesus was the Truth. Accurate doctrine must translate into accurate life.” (1)

We can do better than approximate life. We can be the humanity and grace of Jesus because by the Spirit, Jesus becomes us. Life in the spirit is not some mystic energising of the law. It is Jesus as you., Jesus as us all.

You can honour God with Christ your life. You are free of humbug and full of grace and truth. You rest in His life while multiplying the Godliness that is Jesus without effort and contrivance.

The pieties adopted in a legalistic life-style can make us look as ridiculous as the current president of the United States. Such piety is the kings new clothes. By agreeing that Jesus is our life we become authentic sons of God who are whole and holy.

The Christ of God is fully God and fully human. To see Jesus is to see our Father. It is also to see our real selves and be our real selves. When the Spirit of Jesus becomes us we are fully human. We are daughters and sons - Fully human and fully alive with spirit and life.

‘The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you--they are full of the Spirit and life’ John 6.63 NIV.
