In Galatians Paul urges us to live from the new and living way that is Christ as us. Resistance to this inheritance leaves us as slave and workers. But never sons. It is meaningless to talk about the spirit of sonship when one lives from the law because as such we can never be sons- just children of the slave woman who are sincere workers or wilfully ignorant slaves.
GENIUS OF INCARNATION
The genius of the divine plan is that God has made Himself known to us by being with us and in us. Jesus was not a shadow of God bearing witness to some superior reality such as the law or some concept of religion. This was the Reality exclaiming that I AM is among us and that I AM is the reality to which all prior conceptions of God were leading and are now realised. The lesser leads to the greater. The old testament leads to the new. The law leads to Christ. Glimmerings lead to the Light who is Life. Light, life, our Father and who we are as humans is revealed in the person of Jesus Christ. The Godly man or woman is Jesus Christ manifest.
THE PRIME REVELATION
‘God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power’ Heb 1.1-3.
SUPREMACY OF CHRIST
There is nothing to which the Christ of God is inferior or any entity to which Jesus was subordinate – save as the Son of Man who trusted His Father as the first Adam did not. Jesus was the manifestation of Father just as we are called to be the manifestation of Jesus – and of the trinity. We are now the sons of God whereas we were only notionally sons prior to the cross. After the cross we are sons in spirit and in truth because Christ represents us and is indeed us as individuals and as the community that is His Body.
‘For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ’ John 1.17 NIV. So are you living in Christ or Moses?
The revelation of our Father in Jesus is complete. The revelation of God manifest in His people is an ongoing project that is being realised in this season as Believers get the realisation and live in it. This is the reality that is Christ and the trinity woven into our being and manifesting as us as sons, not poetically or doctrinally but in the reality that is God incarnated in the sons of God to make them sons in spirit and in truth.
The dumbing-down of what was meant to be the gospel of the Kingdom into religion and institutionalism is a demonic ploy that has met with much success in the post cross age. ‘They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator--who is forever praised’ Amen. Rom 1.25.
What is the truth of God? The truth of God is that Christ lives in you and that His Spirit manifests as you. The truth is that you and Father are one and that you mature into your unique sonship in your oneness with Father.
The gospel of the Kingdom – undiluted and not morphed downwards to be dulled and suffocated in religion, as though this is what Jesus accomplished - is that Christ is incarnated and multiplied as His church. His church – the real one – is Jesus manifest as people, just like the real you is Jesus manifest as you.
REALIZE THE TRUTH
‘On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you’ John 14.20 NIV. This is the day when the Kingdom of God emerges from the shadows to live in the reality of Christ multiplied as His people. Thomas Torrance wrote, “It is only in the light of God’s self-revelation and self-giving to us in Jesus Christ his Son, the incarnate Offspring of his own divine nature, and not from his works, that we can have any real understanding of who God is, and come to know him, as far as we may, in accordance with his own nature as Father.” (1)
God is not known from externalities unless God is already in us and woven into our soul as part of our consciousness. God is known from Himself and that self is Christ in us. Christ revealing Himself as He is, extinguishing myths and false doctrines of men and embedding into our being the I AM of God and the I AM of ourselves so that we are the community of sons and daughters in spirit and in truth.
