THE ABUNDANT, NOT SCARCITY VERSION OF KINGDOM LIFE
26/11/24 14:42
Recent times have illustrated that many people are more affixed to their version of the truth than they are to objective, evidence about the nature of the world. People reject truth and lie because it suits them. They think they have more to retain and more to gain by living in the half-truths and mythology that supports their un-life. Not that they see that it is un-life. ‘Seeing’ is the difference between being in Christ as a state of being and attached to Christ as an adherent of Christian religion.
TRUTH IS LIFE
If we have misguided beliefs about God because that is what we have been socialised into – we are not a liar. But the quality of our life with God will be second or third rate because we have accommodated our self to lies we have been told. Why travel with the animals in the goods van when you have a first-class seat in Jesus at the front of the train.
LIFE WITHOUT LIMIT
Jesus urged that eternal, infinite, unlimited life is found in knowing God and Jesus Christ whom God has sent. He was taking about spiritual life – but when Jesus talks about life He means all of it. This is the Kingdom of God.
KNOWING GOD
Baxter Kruger writes, “Jesus wants his Father known. He is passionate about it. He cannot bear for us to live without knowing his
Father, without knowing his heart, his lavish embrace,
his endless love-and the sheer freedom to be that works
within us as we see his Father's face. Jesus knows the
Father from all eternity. He sits at His right hand and sees
Him face to face, and shares life and all things with Him
in the fellowship of the Spirit. How could he be content to
leave us in the dark with no vision of his Father's heart?
How could this Son be indifferent when we are so lost and
afraid and bound in our mythology?” (1)
THE PHLEGMATIC SELF MAY NOT BE A SON BUT A WORKER
Given this, how can any of us be indifferent enough to live passively in a lesser gospel as a phlegmatic self, blessed slightly by a few drops of grace when there is enough truth in the real gospel of Jesus and the apostles to make us rivers of living water and deliver us from being the dead folks walking.
